Spiritual Planting and Healing: Nurturing Mother Earth with Milkweed Seeds and Blessings
How to help Mother Earth:
In this episode, we share a heartfelt ceremony rooted in Jewish traditions but adaptable to any belief system. By calling upon the ancestral mothers of the three monotheistic religions, along with compassionate Beings, we share a powerful healing blessing for our planet.
We reveal the profound connection between physical efforts, like planting milkweed seeds, and spiritual practices that honor Mother Earth.
We emphasize making compassionate choices for personal growth and environmental betterment, encouraging listeners to engage in simple yet impactful actions.
We'll also introduce you to "Callie’s Change," a delightful children's book that teaches young minds about growth, patience, and gratitude through the transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly.
Join us in this collective effort to nurture and heal our precious Earth.

You can play an active role in helping Mother Earth on a physical and spiritual level. In Season 2, episode 14 of Give a Fuck, presented by Spark Consciousness, I am going to share a ceremony and a book with you to help you do just that. Join us for this beautiful healing experience. Welcome to Season 2, episode 14 of Give a Fuck, presented by Spark Consciousness. We're dropping knowledge bombs and answering your burning questions about nature, animals, spirituality, mental health, women's empowerment and other profound topics. This podcast probably won't change your life, but hopefully it will give you some food for thought, some guidance on this twisted path we call human existence. My role as an award-winning story keeper and catalyst for healing humanity and Mother Earth is to help you reawaken to your own connection with nature and, through this reconnection, reacquaint you with your intuition. What you do with it, how you incorporate that into your life, is up to you. I hope you'll make changes that benefit both you personally and Mother Earth as a whole. I hope you'll share what you learn here with others and that they'll make different, more compassionate and enlightened choices too. Either way, take what works for you, leave the rest. Always work to be the best version of yourself and try to leave the world a little better than it was when you arrived. I'm so excited about this that I'm just going to skip over the question section and I am going to jump right into the seitan of the show. This ceremony kind of came to me while I was in the car and it was a little bit emotionally overwhelming when it hit me and it's not always safe when driving. But here we are, so I made it back safely. At this point although I record ahead we are post-election and regardless of the results of that election, mama Earth still needs us. Regardless of the results of that election, mama Earth still needs us. I know prior to now in the season, we've been looking at all of the things that we have done that aren't so great for Mother Earth, and we've also been looking at things that we can do on a very tangible level, a very physical level, to change the tide and to make a difference, and all of that is super important. But part of how I show up, part of how I understand Earth, part of how I listen to Mama Earth, is that she has spiritual needs as well, and so I really want to present this ceremony as a way to nurture her spiritual needs your spiritual needs, mama Earth's physical needs and possibly yours as well. And then I want to share a book that you might want to share with young ones in your life. That will help them, perhaps, understand what you're doing in a very kid-friendly way, and I want to preface this, however, by saying that I am putting a little bit of a Jewish spin on it.
Speaker 1:Feel free to change the words of it, if need be, so that it fits into whatever your belief system happens to be. If you'd rather be more generic, if whatever, that's fine. This is a guideline. This is the way that it shows up for me, but make it yours Before we jump in. I encourage you to do this outdoors, because there is a physical planting piece to this, but don't feel like you have to. You can also listen now and do it outside later. That's okay too. Whatever works for you is all right.
Speaker 1:So we're going to call in our ancestral mothers, and these are the ancestral mothers for any of the three monotheistic religions. If that doesn't speak to you, feel free to call on other compassionate beings, whoever you feel is important. We're going to call on our ancestral mothers, sarah, rebecca, rachel and Leah. We're going to call in any other helper, guides, compassionate spirits. We're going to call in any other helper, guides, compassionate spirits. We're going to call in Mother Earth herself, so she is present for this blessing. We're going to call in Father Sky because he supports Mother Earth, and if you need to push pause so that you can allow all those beings to arrive, that's fine, and when you're ready, we're going to offer Mother Earth a blessing and again, you can change these words if you feel like you need to, to make them work for you. Thank you, mother Earth, for supporting us and loving us and giving to us, even when it seems you have nothing left to give. We understand that you are hurting and we want to help. We are listening as best as we can and we offer you this healing offering.
Speaker 1:And at this point, I encourage you to plant some seeds. I, depending on the time of year, this is fall right now this episode is being released, so in the fall, the only thing that I can think of that would be appropriate to plant would be milkweed seeds that are native to your area, because milkweed needs to cold stratify, so you can put those right in the ground right now and offer them as a healing gift to mama earth and offer them as a healing gift to mama earth, and in the spring they will come up, because that's how milkweed works. Bear in mind, however, most milkweed has to grow and die down and grow and die down for three years before you start to see those beautiful blooms and any butterfly activity on them. So just be a little patient with it. You can send a self-addressed stamp envelope to I think it's the Monarch Society I will put the address information in the show notes for you to get free seeds that are appropriate for whatever area that you live in. So I'll make sure to put that in the show notes for you Once you've planted the seeds, whatever you're choosing to plant. We again want to thank the ancestral mothers, sarah, rebecca, rachel and Leah whoever else you invited in, compassionate helpers, spirits whatever, father Sky and Mother Earth for coming to the ceremony and helping provide this healing offering to Mother Earth. Offer them thanks and love and let them know that when they're ready to depart, they can and again, feel free to pause if you need to let this sit a little longer. Go with what feels right for you.
Speaker 1:It's audio only, so I can't pause for too long because you'll all think I've disappeared. If you have chosen to plant milkweed and you have young ones in your life, you might want to involve them in that, and I have a really fun book that I wanted to share with you, called Callie's Change. This is one of my children's books that I wrote called Callie's Change. This is one of my children's books that I wrote and it's all about milkweeds and the monarch butterfly. So I'm going to read that right now so that you can hear what it's all about. You won't be able to see the gorgeous illustrations, unfortunately, because it is audio only, but if you buy the book you'll find it and again, that's obviously in the show notes as well. So again, it's called Callie's Change.
Speaker 1:Callie Caterpillar has just been born. She's very hungry. Looking around, she notices that she's been born on a leaf of the food she Milkweed. Callie starts eating Yum, this is so good. She eats and eats, and eats. As she eats, she gets bigger and bigger. One day, kelly is full. Instead of feeling hungry, kelly is tired. She finds a warm place and starts to spin silk thread. She uses this thread to attach to a solid surface and hangs upside down. The next day, she's fully wrapped up in this thread. The case it makes is called a chrysalis. While she's inside, callie is changing. She's in danger from many things. Outside her chrysalis, a nice man sees her chrysalis hanging and keeps her safe for the next 15 days. When she comes out of the chrysalis, callie has wings. Callie sits in the sun and lets it warm her. When she's ready, callie flutters her wings and flies over to the nice man who protected her. She gently drops on his shoulders for a few moments and whispers thank you. Then she flies away to visit flowers and spread joy.
Speaker 1:Now, if you remember from previous episodes, we've talked about host plants, and milkweed is a host plant for monarch caterpillars, monarch butterflies, and that, plus a real life story, was the inspiration for that book.
Speaker 1:I hope you enjoyed this ceremony and that you will do it as many times as you feel called to do to help Mama Earth.
Speaker 1:It's a great way to start plants in the spring. Whenever you feel called to do, it is great. Did you feel a glimmer, a spark, a light in the dark during this episode?
